Jason Hrynkiw, PGA, closed out the 75th Kentucky PGA Professional Championship in wire-to-wire fashion, backing up his opening-round 68 with a 71 on Tuesday to finish at 5-under 139 and claim the title at Heritage Hill Golf Club.
Hrynkiw, of Harmony Landing Country Club, held the outright lead throughout the tournament and did enough down the stretch to keep the chasing pack at arm’s length, closing with a one-stroke margin over a tied second-place finish.
Nathan Hincks, PGA, of The Club at Olde Stone and Andrew Stephens, PGA, of The Stephens Golf Center both matched rounds of 70-70 to finish tied for second at 4-under 140, one shot back of the champion. Both players stayed within striking distance of Hrynkiw all day, matching his pace stroke for stroke but unable to find the separation needed to catch him down the stretch.
Daniel Iceman, PGA, of Weissinger Hills Golf Course, Alastair Tidcombe, PGA, of Valhalla Golf Club and Brandon Sanner, PGA, of Golf Headquarters rounded out the tie for fourth at 2-under 142. Iceman and Tidcombe each carded 2-under 70s in the final round to climb two spots up the leaderboard after opening with matching 72s, while Sanner slid two spots after a Tuesday 73 following his second-place, 69 in Round 1.
The low round of the day belonged to Aaron Eldridge, PGA, who fired a 4-under 68 on Tuesday to climb into a tie for seventh at 1-under for the championship.
The win marks Hrynkiw’s first Kentucky PGA Professional Championship title, capping a wire-to-wire performance at one of the Section’s most demanding tests. Heritage Hill Golf Club played firm and challenging for the field over the two-day championship.
Beyond the title, Hrynkiw, Stephens, Hincks and Sanner punched their tickets to the 2027 PGA Professional Championship, set for April 25-28 at Streamsong Golf Resort in Bowling Green, Florida, with Tidcombe, Iceman and Eldridge on hand as alternates. Defending champion Zach Haynes, PGA, is already exempt into the national championship field and does not count toward those four qualifying spots.
The 75th Kentucky PGA Professional Championship marked another chapter in one of the Section’s most prestigious events, bringing together the top PGA Professionals from across Kentucky to compete for the title.
