Sara Stephens, PGA, closed out the Kentucky PGA Women’s Professional Championship at Nevel Meade Golf Club with a two-round total of 159, posting rounds of 82 and 77 to win the title outright.

Stephens, representing World of Golf, trimmed five shots off her opening score in the final round, turning an already comfortable position into a decisive victory. Her improvement from Monday to Tuesday proved to be the difference in a tournament where her closest competitor never got closer than nine shots.

Olivia Hardesty, PGA, of Quail Chase Golf Course finished second at 168 after rounds of 85 and 83. Like Stephens, Hardesty trended in the right direction as the tournament progressed, shaving two strokes off her first-round number to close out the event. It wasn’t enough to overcome Stephens’s lead, but it capped a solid week for the runner-up.

Sally Morgan, PGA, representing the Kentucky Section, rounded out the field in third at 185, carding a 93 in the opening round before improving to a 92 in the final round.

The KPGA thanks all of the players in the field and Nevel Meade Golf Club for hosting the championship. The full leaderboard can be found here, and photos from the event are available here.
