Zach Haynes, PGA, of The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, has been selected to represent the United States on the 2026 PGA Cup Team, the PGA of America announced Tuesday.
Haynes joins nine other PGA of America Golf Professionals who will face Great Britain & Ireland in the 32nd PGA Cup, a biennial, Ryder Cup-style competition set for Oct. 2-4 at The K Club in County Kildare, Ireland. The event features four foursomes and four four-ball matches over the first two days, followed by 10 singles matches on the final day.
The U.S. Team was set through a two-year points system that included the 2025-26 PGA Professional Championships and PGA Championships, with qualification concluding at the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, this past May.
The roster is headlined by 2026 PGA Professional Champion Jesse Droemer of Houston, Texas, with Ben Polland, PGA, of Shooting Star at Jackson Hole serving as team captain. The Americans will chase a fourth straight Llandudno International Trophy after defeating Great Britain & Ireland, 17.5-8.5, at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon, in 2024. The U.S. holds a 20-7-4 record in the series since it began in 1973.
Haynes’ selection marks a proud moment for the Kentucky Section, which he’ll represent on this year’s team.
